Tread depth required at lease end?

I’m trying to find some info on how much tread depth is allowed on a vehicle when returning it from lease. This is in regards to a friends car from Syracuse, and I don’t know the dealer at the moment to call them.

Thanks, Mike

I have my return kit in front of me for the GTO. It reads “1/8” minimum tread depth at shallowest point for acceptable wear".

It will tell you in your lease turn in kit.

typically minimum legal depth, 2/32’nds or 1/8", tread depth is measured in 32’nds typically.

You realize you just told me 2 seperate numbers for minimum legal depth, right?

The lease return kit wasn’t available when I posted this up, but thanks for the replies Ryan and Juiced.

Np, my parents had a lease they turned in and in the kit had circles for the glass, fabric, and then a tread gauge to put on each tire. What kind of vehicle is it btw?

I turned my 01 jimmy in with bald tires and a smashed bumper and they didnt say anything to me. I also payed 1000 over on my payments before hand because i had no time to fix the pos.
My friend mark turned his cavi into the dealer and got a 1200 dollar bill 6 months later saying the car wa so dirty they could not resell it. More gm BS if you ask me.
You can also goto the dealer and have them to a pre turn in check. My mom did that with her jimmy.
