Truck w/ utility body

Anyone know of a place around here that sells them?
Oldish trucks with utility bodies on them?
(90s trucks, that is)

Or know of someone/is selling one?
Can be rusted to shit, I don’t care…

I can find a bunch of ones on ebay, but none local.
I don’t want to take time off work to fly out to grab it and drive it back.
Plus there’s a good chance of getting a POS lemon or something.

Is there like a used truck place with them?

That would work yes, but i don’t want to find spare parts for a 77 when something breaks lol.

edit; fuck me sideways.
I only searched stuff like work truck, utility body, etc…
not utility truck.
ahaha.

eh, nothing really there besides that guy.
and it’s been posting like every 4 days at a different price.
900, 950, 1000.

oh, and a trade for a car.

I wouldn’t be worried about finding parts. Most parts from 73-87 for trucks and 73-91 for blazers and suburbans will work in some fashion. If the motor is a 350, then that’s easy, and if the trans is a TH350, then those are abundant. Not a while lot of specialized parts for them.

And if I had the cash, i’d probably pick that up for myself as I need a work truck too.

Can you buy parts that old in auto stores?
I’m pretty dumbish when it comes to older cars.

You can get most mechanical parts at the auto stores. I’ve bought some wheel studs and leaf spring bushings from Autozone for my 70 blazer. I’ve also priced out fuel senders, and fuel pumps for it as well, and they could get them. Body panels are a junkyard find, but chances are if you damage it enough to want to fix the body panels, you
ll probably look for a new truck. if not, you can always swap up to a 91 suburban/blazer front end for an updated look.

There are more possibilities with the older ones for finding acceptable parts that interchange because there were hardly any electronics you had to get correct.

Just a thought. Carbs can be a pain, and if you don’t do a lot with them, or don’t learn about them, then it can be trouble sometimes.

Ah cool, I figured anything pre 1990ish they wouldnt have in autostores :s

Yeah, I was going to post in my last one, that I’ve never owned/worked on a car that has had a Carb on it, so I was pretty unsure how to take care of it. lol.
But then changed my mind :stuck_out_tongue:

Parts for that truck are super easy to get. There’s still a lot of them around. A good parts store (NAPA, Carquest) will have everything. I can still get parts for my '49 Chevy, '55 Willys, and our '50 Dodge PU from Carquest.
That era truck is SUPER easy to work on as well. They’re very mechanically simple. Don’t let the carb scare you. If you have problems just have someone with experience show you how to deal with it. Go get it.
