…how’s the gas mileage on them? Would they be an insanely bad commute car? :boink

nope,if u stay out of the gas!
actually good on gas but also depends on the tune of it. if you have to run race fuel then it sucks if not on safe tune you can get good mileage
With stock injectors, a low timing chip with early lockup on the converter, I got 24 mpg on the way home from Chicago…keep in mind my car has 147,000 miles on it!
I’ve heard of guys getting as high as 26
26mpg on super unlead from NC to PA. CRUISE SET AT 75-80
44lb injectors
about 16mpg in the city.
i dont know if i would commute that 17 year old car though
tuned mine a lil much…race fuel only!!! stock i belive was 17city 24 highway 93 octane
Yeah, I guess you’re right. It’s just if I get this job I’m applying for I’ll pretty much need to get a commute car, and be able to afford to spend a fair amount. I just hate the idea of spending a lot on something I have no interest or passion in (like a Camry or something). Maybe a low mileage GTP is in my future…

or you could (finally, for once) show some class and get yourself a decent Jap/Euro sport sedan. Maxima = awesome commuter car. Ive beat V6 Camaros, Mustangs, Probe GT’s, and some other stupid things with it. And its an auto. Find a 97-99 SE with a 5 speed.
Gotta go with DS on this one…there’s never been a better time in the car market for the performance enthusiast. Absolutely never. There are more options, niches, engines, AWD platforms, etc. Take a look around dude, there’s so much out there these days that buying a 17 year old Buick makes me shudder. Great project or weekend car, but for a daily???
I’m actually jealous, I wish I could be in the market right now as you are with so many good options. At least for the cars I like. I guess Buicks and GTPs aren’t among the cars I’d consider so it may be a matter of perspective…
saab 2.0t
volvo 2.7t
audi a4 1.8t
For the GF. I’m just gonna get a SC400 on dubs. :kekegay:

picked up an 02 gtp for daily very nice fast car started modding already…very happy with it
is’nt the saab 2.0t just a subie in disquise?
even though i have a supercharged gm as a daily whip(good car with a 146000 on the clock) i also like these choices above
If you get 1 you willn’t have time to check milage.Mine is about 19-12 MPG.
Yeah, I bought one for a weekend car, something to build up gradually, but I don’t think I would want it to be my only set of wheels…
