Has anyone on here ever put a turbo on a bike??

A friend of mine has a Yamaha FZ6 with a GT1548 on it. I helped him with a little of it.
Why not? Cause undesired wheelies may get annoying and expensive.
a guy here in roc has one on his 02 gsxr. at 6lbs of boost and a really small turbo it pulls the wheel up in 6th gear and runs in the 9’s.only prob is making sure you have someone install it that is really good with it. think about a half ass job on a bike… oil spills on the rear tire and your going down.
I thought busas were boosted … could you just use the mani off that?
you can get 9’s from the factory from a new cbr1000 according to popular mechanics, 9’s from a boosted bike seems slow

Its not exactly meant to be a 1/4 mile whore. Quite a bit harder to get those times lower. I’m sure the top end is where they show, when you aren’t worried about looping the bike and burning the tire into a highside. Not to mention he didn’t say what size GSXR, and comparing an '02 to an '09 isn’t exactly an apples to apples comparison either.
It is a lot easier to run 9s and pull on zee highway when you have 50-100hp more than the guy next to you.
Especially if you’re adding only 40lbs tops.
There are tons of boosted zx10rs on zx10r.net. If the gixxer forums don’t have any good info then you could sign up there and ask. Those guys are always super helpful.
I wouldn’t bother unless you’re getting an extended swingarm IMO. I’d rather have traction and pull like a freight train than doing 120mph wheelies.

Also IDK what year gixxer, but it may be a giant PITA if you’ve got a carbed bike since you can’t put a power commander or bazazz unit on it.

As i’ve stated before, i bet 99% of the people couldnt get a stock bike in here into the 9’s… not without a ton of seat time…
i bet with an extra 50 hp, id trap 15 mph higher… i remember racing a turbo gsxr 1000 at NYI we looked sooo close going through the traps… he was killing my ET and trap though…
