no, the slower spinning turbine will just increase exhaust backpressure a bit.

What are its advantages? In extracting work from waste energy, the overall thermal efficiency of the engine is increased (46% instead of 42%). In simple terms more is extracted from the fuel consumed. This creates a more powerful engine and provides better efficiency.

4% is kind of weak… but that is thermal efficiency, not mechanical.

that’s how i stumbled upon it, i was looking at old 3500 HP wright airplane motors. I was surprised that i had never heard of it, seeing as the technology was decades old.

R3350?
