well, i got new parts–just for the wrong car.
got my ls swap today. need mounts and a new clutch for it before it can drop into my 90 si hatch. probably do it on a weekend here in the near future. dont really have the money to blow on buying clutch and mounts right now, so will probably do some ebay watching or some side jobs ot pay for the shit i need. wouldnt mind picking up a header too.
also got replacement quarter panels that go from the front dog leg to the tail light area. will put these on when the car gets painted obviously. that means the 2 1/4 panels i cut out of another car i have no need for anymore. am trading mechanical labor for paint/body work to a body shop.
now i need to get a truck and pick up my front clip off steve. so if your reading this steve, let me know when is good.
then to add more temptation to the fire, i got a new turbonetics log manifold for it. traded labor for it…
in vw news-- the turbo has been confirmed dead. place who built it originally did a bang up job. so now im waiting for it to get rebuilt if it is possible. if not, then i get my money refunded for store credit toward the purchase of a new turbo. so maybe a 35r is in the future for it. in the meantime, they are supposedly sending me a t3/t4 60-1 w/ a 63 turbine housing as a loaner turbo to get me running again.
so close on the vw, yet so far away. still needs aligned, inspected, tuned for whatever turbo gets put on it. was fun driving it the little bit i did. motherfuckers. tired of setting deadlines on it, so it runs when it runs. this winter the auto goes in it anyways.
