I can get this HKS Style turbo extention made out of stainless steel for about $100. Im concerned with the wastegate/turbo sereration wall. Is it wise for me to get this vs the Greddy which is over $220 us
you can see the fitment on the T-25 here
Here is the Greddy
It still has the wall, just not as large
Im concerned that the HKS style one wont fit because of the built up carbon on the exhaust side of the turbo and i will have a small exhaust leak.
I used to have a GReddy one, it was great, i loved it.
But the HKS one looks pretty good, and if you can somehow get it for $100 then even better. I’m sorry i didn’t get that completely right. Are you planning to MAKE one similar to HKS? or actually get an HKS one, cuz usually HKS is VERY VERY expensive for that kind of stuff.
My suggestion would be, if you’re putting a new turbo extension on, take the turbo out of the car with the manifold. Change all the gaskets while you’re at it. We have already had 3-4 SR’s with Manifold-Turbo gasket blowing. After you take it out of the car, you can get rid of all the carbon build-ups, you can change all the studs in the turbo (GReddy one comes with new studs).
There is also a section in technical that talks about removing turbo out of the car…
no, that one i posted is a HKS knock off of good quality, the only thing i was concerned about was having the seperation plate like that, i an get that same posted for 90-100 us, thanks for the tips Pavel!
