UB Solar Power Project

7.5 million came from the New York Power Authority, not some federal grant. As for the tax incentives argument, UB is a state school. There isn’t a tax incentive for them to do this.

Our new building at oswego has a geothermal field with 252 bore holes in it at 499ft deep

should be running by the end of the summer so we will see how much power it produces

Either way, you pay taxes to each government. It is nice to see some attention and tax money going back to the area that isn’t Bass Pro Shops.

Edit: The Power Authority says they operate without State Revenue or Tax Credit but in the end, nearly 40 New York State -based companies, employing hundreds of local residents, contributed to this project. Again, lets just be happy that there is somethings putting money back into this area that doesn’t involve grain elevators.

That crap is way too damn expensive, I can’t believe it cost 7.5million dollars for that. wow

WTF

Buffalo is lucky to have HALF a year of sunshine, looking on a website, we get 54 days of sun, and 103 of partly sunny, that leaves 199 days of NO fucking sun.

I know the owner of Solar Liberty who did the install. BIG $$$$$$.
