can we get an AKA under the username for all these people who need to change their usernames for whatever reasons?

i do this all the time

for anyone that asks to change their nick,

it’s my standard policy to have ‘formerly known as’ or AKA the previous username

i meant the old username

so say some guy originally picked the username superdriftboiiS13

now he grew up and realized that name isnt nearly as cool as he thought it was

so he wants to change it to, say, i dunno… Osad or something

so when the username is changed to the new one, the old one goes in the sig ‘formerly known as [old username]’ or ‘AKA [old username]’

i got mike to change my name several months back.

and i dont remember seeing my old name anywhere…

the old name should be in your signature

and your sig should be appearing

if you have ‘show signature’ unchecked, then obviously it wont. im not gonna run around checking this shit for everyone every single time, but it would be nice if people could do it.
we do people a favor by changing their username

i dont expect the old name stay there forever… it’s just to avoid the initial confusion that some people may experience, in their PM inbox or on the board itself. it helps us keeps track of our users/members, too.

username changes were reserved for paid members only…

we havent reinitiated the premium membership in some time but i am sure we will at some point.

I would prefer if you wait for that time because i would feel like a jerk for soliciting funds just for changing your name.
