video player that doesnt take quality away?

whenever i make my videos, they end up in WMV format… i upload to youtube, then hotlink to my video page on my site. youtube always makes the quality less, and effs up the audio a bit, same with facebook.

is there some HTML code or somethin where it opens a player and the inserts my WMV file that is hosted on my server?

there is a high quality mode (HD?) in youtube, but don’t know what you have to do to set it up.

Have you tried uploading a different format than WMV?

im just using windows movie maker, i think WMV is the only format it outputs to

ill try vimeo

you want H264. small file size, high quality. the downside is that it is processor intensive.

yea one of my vids actually had the HD option but i have no idea how it happened, i didnt change any options

micah, if you host them, you can try using something like divx webplayer as well. OUTSTANDING quality and you can give users the option to D/L if you want.

check this link out

it looks like you need to change the video size to 1280X720, or else youtube wont give the “HD” option… just a heads up

word thx

i need to make some more vids

H264

WMF FTL, and you need to upload them in somewhat higher quality than its going to be. Youtube limits to 1GB per upload now, so i would shoot for as large as you can make it.

But that would require a good internet connection…

+1 for vimeo. Also, I suggest checking out H.264 / MPEG instead of WMV…
