i bought a JVC Mini DV camcorder, it was pretty cheap for a camera, so i didnt expect much. But when i started loading small clips onto my pc, the video quality was sub-par.
Is there anything i can do to improve the video quality???
is it the brand of DV tapes i have? or just a cheap camera? or the program i use to upload them?
I think it might be the quality of the camera. Only mini dv cameras I’ve used cost 3k+. I don’t think any of the consumer mini dv camcorders are going to give you the quality you want. Look more near the prosumer, but not quite pro ones.
most mini dv’s only give 480-525 lines of resolution uncompressed
i got it figured out.
my camera films in widescreen format, and regular 4x3 format.
when i was filming, i was filming in widescreen, but when i played it back on my pc, i was watching it in a 4x3 sceen ratio, so it warped my 16x9 widescreen movie, into a 4x3 sceen.
just got the camera, so i’m figuring it out.
