My nomination is a compilation, and a great example of being wrong and knowing nothing about a subject but through sheer stubbornness being unable to drop it, even in a very serious thread.
TO ALL OF YOU SAYING ICE WAS THE ISSUE:
Im far from an aviation guy but consider this. A Lack of lift due to ice on the wings is not characteristic of this crash. If the plane was going down for that purpose, it would have definitely not taken that 3X degree angle into the house, unless however it was intentional. Im not saying it wasn’t ice related but there’s something past that.
But what tells me this was not just a small issue is the obvious fact that why the hell did the plane loose communication with the tower??? The fact that communication was just lost tells me this plane suffered some kind of catastrophic system failure past simply an lift or engine issue.
Someone told me this morning that these planes are primarily used in the northeast for their ability to handle crappy conditions like last night. Im really thinking this may have had to do with more than just the weather.
This is just my take on it.
I was on the phone with my friend last night at around 10:30 as she was driving down Salt and County roads, and twice she said “Omg im being passed by 10 firetrucks, I gotta put you down for a second.” She was right there.
Ok then explain the loss of contact from the tower??? Those points were meant to go hand in hand.
LOL
Lol… I thought I did an ok job in explaining that these were FAR FROM FACTS and rather just an opinion.
Lol
Again, see my post in regards to Lafengas. God you people really read between the lines. How did that come of anything more than a perspective. I SAID RIGHT IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH “IM FAR FROM AN AVIATION GUY”, you douche!
Yeah and thats obviously a rational and likely exception.
Idk how fast a plane falls out of the air or what conditions those pilots were under but if they had any last stand in them before realizing certain death, I just figured an attempt by one of the two would be made to communicate something to the tower.
When did I ever argue it? IT WAS ONE FUCKING STATEMENT. Im arguing people saying “nope your an idiot and absolutely wrong” and then hopping on the usual nyspeed flame bandwagon. If you’re not known on the boards your opinion is always invalid.
See next quote
Do me a favor and reach out and grab something in front of you pull it to your mouth and say the word “Mayday.” If that took over a second then you can come here and shit in my mouth.
Now im arguing my opinion Nik.
AGAIN: I understand and can reason with every point already made. Im not even in the slightest arguing my point as the only right one. Im just putting the thought into heads and no, its not that unreasonable.
Believe me, im not losing any sleep over it. If im that much more out of line than the people who are calling names, and the majority opinion, then ban me.
If the thread name is going to remain “Flight 3407 Tragedy thread,” you might as well hack all this garbage out of it anyways.
Ok, thanks for solidifying my point then.
Its not about knowing aviation, its about using basic problem solving skills and common sense to offer an alternative solution to what everyone else was already saying. Again, it was just an off theory. Why cant people be nice about saying “you’re wrong” (even though I still believe what I said is a possibility.)
