After painting a 96 Passat, I hooked the battery up and the radio went into safe mode…Anybody know how to get out of safe mode?..I have the code but can’t get SAFE to clear from the display…any help?

atleast in a MKIII: to enter your code, hold the seek and the bottom scan button for about 5 seconds untill you see 0000 on the screen. the preset numbers controll how you enter the numbers. the “1” button controlls the first button, the"2" button controlls the second, and so on. So if you want to change like the third number in the sequence to 5, you press the “3” button 5 times. once you have your code entered hold the seek and scan button again for 5 seconds and your radio should say safe for like 2 seconds, and then come on.
