oh yeah? my buddy andy is from philly, he was there in a suuuuper clean white e30 coupe with a nice drop, 15" ronals, m tech I wing, is lip, ryan g splitter, etc. There were 3 of these there that looked almost identical; his was the one with painted rockers
yea, lots and lots of clean white e30s there. i was pretty busy so didnt have much time to check things out.
FRI: our good friend VJ Mirzayan flew in from CA where he qualified p1 in the rain(in a car hes never driven, that blew its motor 3 seasons ago and has sat. every since then) on a track hes never driven. the car was rebuilt and setup in 8 days prior to thursday morning.
SAT: race 1=VJ finished p2 in the rain after hitting a curb and almost spinning, causing a bushing in the diff. to somehow un-press itself from the diff. housing which caused that to slam into the car everytime he accelerated. we went to the hardware store on rt.14 and bought(1 3/8 drive 36mm socket, 1 3/8 drive 24mm socket, 1 10mmX6’ grade 10 bolt, 5 plumbing locknuts, 14 hardened steel washers and a 10mm locknut) to make a new bushing(because we didnt have another one, nor did we have a press). the car made the second race in time to be swapped to slicks setup and start p2 in the 2nd race
–SAT; race2: VJ is passed by a driver i wont name right now in a manner which was unsafe and gave VJ no choice but to to hit him or maneuver away aggressively causing him to spin and lose 6 places(he was in first). 3 laps later the pressure side line coming from the pump for our dry-sump setup is found to have ruptured(probably during the spin) making VJ pit to save the car. he wisely does and we DNF race2.
SUN:wake up after a long night of drinking with the crew(obviously minus VJ) and notice our prays had been answered. it was pouring rain. we go setup for it and get VJ to p22(out of 23) on grid. 2 warm up laps to check the water on it took about 10 minutes of the 50 minute race and they start, VJ makes up 6 spots by turn2. 2 laps in he is p6 gaining on p5. lap3 he is p4 gaining on p3. and lap 4 he comes around turn the last right corner into the front straight. he is p1 and pulling away from p2. the checker flagged is dropped and VJ drives us to our first victory in our first race in 3 years.
it was a great weekend. our hard work paid off and our good friend drove our efforts to a p2 and p1 respectively.

CLIFFS: fri: qualify p1 in a car put together in a week
sat:RACE1 finish p2 in the rain with a diff that was basically maneuvering freely.

sun:RACE3 make up 21 spots in 4 laps to finish p1 in the rain in a grassroots car
