Just got my 17" LCD Flat Panel!!!

I don’t know… max is 1280 x 1024. I have it set at 1280 x 968. Vid card is an Intel Extreme 2 Graphics. Old… like 3 years old.
The fonts look kinda funny on the new screen, like they are shadowed or something
you need microsofts clearview for LCD screens…

top one on the right…download and install, it’ll show up in the control panel
you also need a new video card!
Looks even worse with the ClearType on!
I need a better excuse for a new vid-card than “I pilfered a 17” monitor from the new computers we got in, swapped it with my 15" LCD, and now I can’t see PittSpeed very good!". :hs:
i have a decent nvidia card… i’ll check the serial number tonight… it’s just sitting in a dormant computer.
I just changed the resolution to 1280 x 1024 and it looks 10X better now… go figure. 
Why do I need a better vid card again? :scratches head:
tha’ts because you were distorting your screen wtih improper resolution.
a better card will yeild more settings availible, higher res and the like.
you don’t need it, just like you don’t need a 17" lcd 
I know… it’s nice though! I can look straight ahead and see what I’m typing, not down at the screen. I have one of those stands that raises my monitor up off the desk about 3 1/2 inches, and the 15" monitor was still very short.
The only reason I liked 1280 x 960 is because that is proportional with 800 x 600, and 1024 x 768. 1280 x 1024 makes the screen much taller than it is with the other resolutions I’m used to using.
Oh well, I’ll get used to it. 
It made mine ALOT better. my LCD is one of the hard ones on my laptop. Im gonna put it on my desktop too when i get home.
I also installed the Alt+tab tool and the picture resizer.

What is the alt+tab tool? I didn’t have to install anything to make my alt+tab scroll through my stuff in the toolbar.
By the way Sonny, everyone at work w/ a flat-panel loves that ClearType too! 
it shows a preview (screen cap) of the screen you are Alt+tabbing to, instead of just the icon
oooohhhhhh. I usually know what’s up on my screen anyways, but nonetheless.
