Here’s what was priced out on another forum I’m on by a pro.

I have been debating this for several months. If we can get enough people to pony up the necessary funds I would love to organize a studio shoot to produce similar images as those shown below. This is not a fly-by-night undertaking. I am looking at hiring a 3-4 man light crew, a studio, and some serious equipment to make the cars look absolutely amazing. Depending on the number of takers it could easily be a 2-3 day endevour. I am guessing at the costs at this point but we would be talking around $1500 per day for the studio, crew, light, softbox construction, etc…

First is the studio prep including painting the cyclorama white, building the 20’x40’ light box, building huge reflectors, staging and testing the lights and cleaning the set. Thats 6-10 hours depending on the size of my crew. Next is the shooting. I figure I could spend 2 hours per car and that would be 5 cars in a day after set-up. I would like to get more cars than that to get the per/car price down a bit.

1 day of prep and 2 days of shooting to get 12 cars shot would be $5735 dollars for the rentals and personnel which would break down to $480 per car. Please keep in mind that this cost does NOT include the time for post processing or prints. I am willing to process 1 print per car for free and pass on my hard costs for any size and quanity of prints you guys want as long as I have the rights to sell the images we produce. So please post your thoughts and ideas. This would be alot of fun and would be a great experience for owners and photographers alike.

I have lined up the studio to shoot and it is very nice. Full wrap around cyclorama and complete lighting grid with digital lighting control… very nice.

Here’s the cost breakdown:

Crew (gaffer, 2 grips): $700/day ($2100)
Full light truck: $125/day ($375)
Studio Rental: $450/day ($1350)
20x40 frame and silk: $195/day $585
Paint cyclorama: $950 ($950)

TOTAL: $5360

That brings the per person total to $450. I would like get this project underway so I need 8 more committments. Once I have 10 cars I will need half down deposits from everyone prior to booking the studio.

And Britt does quality work, he did the shoot for Joe’s TT Ford GT before it went to SEMA and has done a ton of promotional work.
