Yeah, Porsche > my garage for sure.

I like P-cars, and have raced (as in I drove them, not raced against) a few. They have their merits (amazing balance and steering feel in the Buttster/Gayman, amazing corner exit power delivery in the 911s) and their weaknesses (ever lift-throttle mid-turn in a 911?). Even P-car enthusiasts will tell you the Buttster/Gayman is the better design/layout but is neutered by Porsche politics ('cause it can’t be “faster” than a 911) and the 911 is possibly the worst drivetrain layout possible, but Porsche has (mostly) engineered their way around it. They are fun and fast (IF you can drive them), but overprice for what you get. Still, I wouldn’t mind DDing a Carrera S, but I’d still rather track the Z.

And I will openly admit I didn’t buy the Galant for it’s looks. It’s a pretty ugly car… but that’s part of the fun with a car like that. I guess you won’t get it because you only care about impressing gay 20-somethings (the ONLY people on earth that “like” 1-series BMWs).

Finally, you spew all this shit about performance not being the end-all-be-all etc. Yet you say the Camaro isn’t necessarily the best Camaro built because it’s 1/4 mile isn’t faster? Wouldn’t you want to judge the car as an overall package? The Camaro was never in its history a SPORTS car. It is a muscle car, and the newest one is meant to be a civilized DD/Grand Touring type car as well. Would I like to see better out of it in the 1/4 mile? Sure. But have I written it off just because it “only” runs 13-flats w/ a magazine driver and stock 20" tires? No.
