re: bics
dude… how do you get your dick out of smokey’s ass, clothed, log him out and log yourself on in minutes??? that’s faster than the camaro SS!
isn’t it a 40k car… hence the car and price one page back
i never ever said a car handles like shit, unless it was inferred, beacuse i personally don’t give a fuck about handling and track (lap) times of any car, let alone domestics.
you can make fun of my 1 series… beacuse i, unlike you ball-rides, actually own one, and get to drive it daily to be able to form a real opinion and not an internet opinion.
i’m glad you find humor in my posts… i find humor in your BFF’s car and he’s upset about it. i never meant anything shitty, i thought it was well known that cavaliers are the domestic rice burners? :dunno:
broski… get out of the sun a little more… that west coast is turning you retarded.
4th gen / 5th gen… ok? porsche > your garage
i don’t care what you or hte internet thinks my car looks like, kind of like how i would assume people woudln’t care what i think the camaro looks like.
my comment about your galant was not that you aren’t an enthusiast, it was to denote your horrible taste in car appearances.
my 135 isn’t a newly hyped, re-released SPORTS car… it isn’t marketed as that and isn’t sold under that facade. … i guess you’re missing the fact that this was suppose to be the NEWLY Created and better than ever camaro that produced nominal numbers (read: can barely compete with a lowest level bmw coupe) and has an intense price tag… oh and that’s ugly

Yes you can spend $40K but you can ger a SS for just over $30K.
If you don’t then whatever…I thought you did…point was you act like every american is garbage and is slow…just to be a hater.
Your 1 series is decent…performance wise. I hate the looks of it very bland/pussy status…but whatever I guess there is a market for it. For the record I do own both cars I really wanted.

It is good you can entertain me…keep up the good work. Yes cavaliers are domestic rice burners…but performance wise piss all over your wannabe yuppie 1series
how did this turn from the shitty camaro to a yuppie and a cavalier owner bitching at eachother?
the new camaro is ugly, the new challenger is not much better looking. The only new “retro” car worth looking at is the mustang. The mustang was the first pony car back in the day and all the others have just been copying since then. mustang>camaro>challenger (I give the camaro a higher mark than the challenger because it is not a dodge )
when i say somethign to Sonny, i dont expect him to change his point of view, i was just throwing it out there. we havent agreed on cars in the last 6 yrs, so why start now. its all good. it still fun to talk shit tho.
i will agree that its kinda lame that it took this long for the camaro to finally be put into production with the retro theme, considering ford has had their car out for awhile now. plus dodge has their cars out now too. but regardless, the car is still pretty sweet. even after not being to wild about the retro idea, i do love the car and i would consider one if i were to buy another v8 as my toy/race car. the only problem is that id want the top of the line 2SS and with the wheels etc, you are approaching c6 territory on price, which id rather have than the new camaro.
i think that most of my disdain for these new cars is all the hype over the re-releases and they are all crap… i almost even agree with redneck that the mustang is the best of the worst when taking them into consideration. I just thought that if you were going to bring something back to make it badass… it just seems that they make these cars mediocre at best and typically if not always, under-performed.
i’m not even sure how or why it was brought up, but i like my car… if anyone thinks that i give an inkling of shit whether they do or not, they are greatly misinformed. if i were going to buy a sports car, it wouldn’t be my first choice… but how could it be, it’s my daily driver. Which is almost exactly my reason why this camaro is crap… it’s full blown highest end package is about on par with 4 year old BMW technology. you’d think it would be the next corvette killer or something? this thing isn’t even close to C6 vette status? :dunno:
I like P-cars, and have raced (as in I drove them, not raced against) a few. They have their merits (amazing balance and steering feel in the Buttster/Gayman, amazing corner exit power delivery in the 911s) and their weaknesses (ever lift-throttle mid-turn in a 911?). Even P-car enthusiasts will tell you the Buttster/Gayman is the better design/layout but is neutered by Porsche politics ('cause it can’t be “faster” than a 911) and the 911 is possibly the worst drivetrain layout possible, but Porsche has (mostly) engineered their way around it. They are fun and fast (IF you can drive them), but overprice for what you get. Still, I wouldn’t mind DDing a Carrera S, but I’d still rather track the Z.
And I will openly admit I didn’t buy the Galant for it’s looks. It’s a pretty ugly car… but that’s part of the fun with a car like that. I guess you won’t get it because you only care about impressing gay 20-somethings (the ONLY people on earth that “like” 1-series BMWs).
Finally, you spew all this shit about performance not being the end-all-be-all etc. Yet you say the Camaro isn’t necessarily the best Camaro built because it’s 1/4 mile isn’t faster? Wouldn’t you want to judge the car as an overall package? The Camaro was never in its history a SPORTS car. It is a muscle car, and the newest one is meant to be a civilized DD/Grand Touring type car as well. Would I like to see better out of it in the 1/4 mile? Sure. But have I written it off just because it “only” runs 13-flats w/ a magazine driver and stock 20" tires? No.
you’re a funny dude… talk about picking and choosing battles… lets compare the most base model lowest level porsche to your highest level golden child z06 ROFL!
how about a 996 gt2? don’t even worry about the 997’s.
whatever man… if chevy built the camaro as anything but a ‘muscle car’ then that woudl be their fault and not mine… I am simply reporting that, outside the car is ugly and inside tacky. Why does it come with 20" wheels? to daily drive get real dude… and I wans’t the one that brought my personal car into this… I was simply talking about the subject at hand… i think its been you folks that feel like dragging my cars into the conversation will help validate your internet arguing points.
i know they are my opinion… which is why i’m surprised that so many dudes are salty about it. if, as TJ stated, the car’s intent was for a daily driver, does it really need brakes that don’t allow 18" wheels??? …no… it’s a sports car, which is why it comes with big brakes and huge wheels… which is why I feel that, for what it was produced for, it’s underpowered.
i dont think that its underpowered… i just think that its way way over weight to be a performance car. its a freakin boat.
and yes it needs 19’s atleast… atleast other 18 GM wheels dont fit. i would like to see a low profile 18 (meaning the inside of the wheel is not so chunky) come out because i would rather have 18’s on it… or shave some of the caliper off of it like the ls1 guys do to fit 16’s or 15’s i forget
I AutoX regularly with a HIGHLY BUILT 996 GT2. I hang with him, though I admit he gets me most of the time. But it’s a race-only car, gutted to the extent the rules allow, no compromise alignment etc. I can take getting beaten by a trailered race car when I drive to/from.
He (literally) has more into modifying and developing that car than I paid for mine.
And who the hell can’t daily drive on 20"s? I DD’ed my Lexus on 19"s for a long, long time. And my sidewalls were shorter than those on the new Camaro (the overall tire height on the Camaro is pretty huge). I really don’t understand your argument here.
Some people DO care about performance in their DD. When you have 426HP (which I guess is now underpowered!!! :hahano: ) in a ~3800lbs car what is wrong with putting some big brakes on it? I can’t believe you’re going to say it’s not a viable DD because it has big brakes and 20"s. I daily drove my '99 Z/28 for most of the 5.5 years I owned it and the last 2 or 3 years I had Porsche 996 TT front brakes on it… I guess that meant it wasn’t really a DD.
congrats on the sale. i do agree with Mac about it being over-weight. i was a bit disappointed with that, when i first saw the curb-weight. but noone said it would go w/o flaw. i just think its still a pretty badass car.
dude… i’m saying you’re an idiot of claiming it’s production intent was for DAILY DRIVING. those were your words, not mine. lets take another handful of commuter cars into the mix… how many have 20’s and big brakes that aren’t hummers?
your argument is dumb… the car is a camaro that was built and bred for performance… to which, it under performs… what good is 430HP when the car is in excess of 3800lbs and can’t blister out of it’s own way down the track.
this is my point… as a newly re-released ‘muscle car’ it leaves more to be desired.
