What cheap vag com cables have any of you used?

My ebay cable worked fine. I think Viper took it off my hands, and he never bitched to me about it sucking.
I bought one including software for around $20. And it has not worked, (yet)
the KKK cable will work with ross-tech 409.1 or somthing like that, on an xp or older machine but will not work for CAN (MK5) cars.

I bought the blue cable from Hong Kong use it with 409.1.
So i grabbed mikes kkl cable…
So now the search is for the usb drivers.
You shouldn’t need anything other than what you can download off the Ross-Tech website if I am not mistaken… I didn’t have the oldest version when I used Mike’s KKL, so it didn’t work with mine, but you should be able to download it no problem
I only tried 409.1
I was not sure what other one to try.
After installing vag-com, I tried to get XP to install the driver from that directory, but it does not find a driver.
Interesting… is your computer recognizing that there is a device plugged in? I know I made the mistake of plugging into the car first before the computer, and that threw everything off.
It shows up as a KKL cable.
