What kinda headunit/flipup with gps?

The new rollback needs a radio bad. So, along with that I was thinking about getting some kinda GPS as well. My question is, do they make a nice flipup that you can use with GPS?

I was looking at normal gps’s, but nothing is man sized… they are all small, 2.5" avg. screen. It would be nice to have a flip up sized 7" screen so when I go out on a tow for another shop, I dont have to get directions, get lost, try to find places to turn around, etc.

I even thought about mounting a nice screen on the dash, but figured that’d get stolen immediately in bum’ler… plus thats probably out of my price range.

there are a ton of flip-ups that have nav… Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwoood, Clarion, Eclipse… (those are all names I wouldn’t fear using, in no specific order) Talk to Chaz he can sort you out…

avic z2… not a flip up, but sexy indeed. get hard drive based nav. way nicer than dvd based.

Its double din right? I dont have the room to mount that in the dash.

Garmin Nuvi 660 comes with suction cup mount & can be removed from the cradle in bad areas. Works great & you can get any head unit you want, since it has nothing to do with the head unit. Plus you can use it in other vehicles.

All the Garmin series do that, Hell for what you do a Garmin C330 will do you fine and you can find those for just under $250

but does it have a 6.5 or 7 in screen? I think that was his point, to stay away from small screens…

with the above mentioned products you can watch dvd while in motion with little or no additional work/money

or you can buy the pioneer, but u need to do some trickery to get vid up on the screen

Just buy a bluetooth enabled screen and pickup a blackberry 8830 w nav for $10 mo extra. Pair the BB w ur headunit and ur set.

i use a Alpine iva-d310 and Alpine NVE N872A. works great. very happy with it.

jenson 7in indash with jenson nav 100 youll spend about 500 for deck and dvd unit, very nice for price.

Bluetooth is used for audio transmission not video…its a burst type of transmission and it would lag like hell trying to send video to a screen

Jensen=poop. They were great in the 70’s with their 6x9s. Their products today suck.

I have the same cd/dvd flipout in the truck … but no navi. Its expensive as hell isn’t it? (the navi)
