A cool $50,000. Even $100,000 to $250,000.
Half a million dollars!
Those are some of the estimates for how much Derek Jeter’s 3,000th hit – a home run – might sell for in the collectibles market. But when the ball settled into Christian Lopez’s hands, he didn’t have to think twice about his price.
He said that it would “be cool to get a jersey or something,” and maybe some bats and balls.
The Yankees decided on Derek Jeter-autographed bats, balls, and jerseys. And they threw in four Champions Suite season tickets for every remaining home game this season, including the playoffs, to go along with his front row seats for Sunday’s game after he caught 3,000.
lol… “a jersey or something”.
I can say without a doubt I would have put that thing on eBay. Probably from my iPhone while sitting there with security.
They were saying it’d go for about $250,000 if he sold it right away. I’m almost positive if Derek Jeter really wanted the ball he might be able scrape together enough to purchase it. All they gave the dude was a couple signed things and tickets for the rest of THIS season…which is more than half over with.
I would have sold that shit so fast the game wouldn’t have even been over. eBay mobile app FTW.
I’d probably sell it on ebay. Then again, I dislike baseball and could care less about Jeter. Sounds like the Yankees did the right thing, though. He’s definitely got some nice, worthy merchandise on his hands now.
i would go with this… i hate the yankees so i really couldnt care about the ball but i would hold it for a while would probably get more for it in a few years
Meh… I still would have posted that on eBay if they weren’t willing to give me 1/2 mil on the spot… I’d run the auction for that extended day crap too. Ice it out for a while.
The fame from doing something stupid with it would be a lot better than going the ebay route. Make an adult film with a chick birthing it from her butthole?
