73 El Camino SS
48k origional miles
350 with 2 barrel carb
has some rot under the box. starts and drives, but runs a little rough because it’s been sitting for the past few years (inside). Guess it needs a little TLC but for the year and mileage and being a running classic car it’s gotta be worth somethign halfway decent…
A buddy of mine inherited it and he isn’t going to do anything with it, what’s it worth?
If it were infront of those three pockets above, who knows.
Around here, right now… Fully restored, low original miles, mint condition, it could be a $19-25K car. If someone wants that year and trim. Its not a desirable year, and is the run of the mill trim it sounds. Bring it to an auction in texas and it could go for double that. There is a long list of variables with these things.
As it sits with the short discription, $1500-4K. Rot tells me there was moisture, moisture gets everywhere. Barned or out in a field? Hows the interior? Hows the paint. Hows the chrome? is it unmolested?
Closer to 1000-2500. 73 wasn’t exactly a banner year for the elcamino. Low HP,bloated…not a highly sought after year. If you can make it “nice” for under 10k it’s worth looking into. If it were a year earlier it would be worth a ton.
post up some pics. It all depends man. There is allways that guy who had one in HS back in the day, who got laid in the back seat after running it to a 15.3 sec pass at LVD. That guy might be looking for another one and would be willing to spend alot more than the next guy. Thats the “fun” part of classic cars.
fixed this fine example of mullet transportation has no back seat. I’m with Eric it’s not a sought after year. If he want to sell it best bet would probably to just get it to driving condition and take what you can get on it.
