cus they last forever, get good mpgz, and cheap to fix. = #winning in this economy
if by cheap to fix you mean they don’t break to begin with, yea!!!
122k on my 97 LX, only things to ever go wrong: wheel bearing, oil pressure sending unit, and replacing the radiator (likely related to hitting a deer with it). Other than that, minimal basic maintenance. Cars are pretty bulletproof.
the only reason why these cars are still holding such high values…because these cars are the shippers preferrence…in africa lebanon afghanistan iraq pakistan these thinga are limos
I’ve had over 30 of them. Most with well over 150k. Never an issue.
This. I have a few customers who do nothing but buy wrecked Toyotas and hondas, fix them up and ship them back to the middle east
what do you do man??
LOL dude you’d be suprised, I always post a bit over book, and always get close to waht I really wanted… people around here are lowballing fucks.
I had a ford ranger, thing was pretty much mint, had 120k on it I think, all maintenance was done on it up to that point. Books for 1600 or so I think? I threw it up for 2000… Had one guy offer me 800 bucks for it because he could tell the timing belt has never been done… while he was pointing at the serpentine belt, which I had just replaced 4-5 monts before, that he would have to get the interior completely gutted and steam cleaned and de-tarred because I smoked at the time, even though the interior was mint… That the whole side of the truck was going to need to be repainted because of a small ding from a rock… dude its a 97 Ford ranger with 120k on it, aside from a small ding or two… the things mint… its not a fucking Lexus… drive it till it dies
He told me he was a ford ranger enthusiast… I LOLED really hard :rofl I called him back 30 minutes after he left to tell him I just sold it for 1600 and sorry he couldent make a deal, needless to say he sounded very pissed. I even told him when he was there i had another guy comming to look at it after he left
I work for an automotive crash part company. We sell everything from bumpers, radiators, condensors, lights, mirrors, hoods, fenders, doors, rockers, replacement patch panels (for certain vehicles back to the 60’s) wheels and so much other little shit. I’m the sales two from Kingston, to utica, to rutland to brattleboro.
Wait so now we’re outsourcing our jobs AND our cheap reliable transportation to them?
hmmmm i may need a fuck ton of chevy truck parts shortly.
