Where would you go for a Convertible soft top replacement?

I am looking to get the Soft Top replaced on my 2000 Honda S2000. I am not looking to do the job myself as it looks to be a pain and take a good amount of time to pull off. I also do not feel like dealing with removing rivets or putting new rivets in. With that said, who knows of some places to check out and get quotes for this work to be done?

I am looking to get this done come spring time.

Are you buying the replacement first then taking it to be installed?

Obviously go with a Robbins top if you do.

I do plan to buy it myself as I’m sure the mark up would be $100 or more.

I second Robbins. I still have my original top but with all the good things I hear about Robbins…it will be my first choice

Heard good things from ATM in Hamburg. Think they did @Quattro Krant’s cabby

Hands down, Moser’s on Hinman off Elmwood in North Buffalo…

Jeremy Kemler from County Seats in Eden has done this work for us before. He does nice work and stands behind it.

@yamba6 do you have a hardtop? Am I the only one making the suggestion that you just ditch the bearded clam softtop and go hardtop?

Thank you, I’ll give them a call to see what they say.

I am definitely going to give them a call as well. I know how you are with your vehicles and know that your suggestion is definitely going to be a promising one. Thank you.

I will check them out as well. Thank you!

Personally I have no use for the hardtop. I’ve tossed the idea around but it just doesn’t seem ideal for me. I don’t want to figure out where to store it when not in use and I love the car for being a convertible. The soft top just makes more sense to redo and as well it should cost less.

Yeah definitely Mosers for sure. He’s been around a long time and does some nice interiors on high dollar cars

Providing the top myself, Mosers came back with a quote of roughly $600 and some change after tax.

Fair and understandable. How many miles on yours now? I’ve always had such a soft spot for these.

I didn’t drive it much last summer but I’m now at 102k which is a 2000. My father has his 2003 with roughly 30k on it right now.

Sounds about right to me…

I was really happy with the work they did fixing a popped seam on the shoulder bolster on my GTO’s drivers seat. Price was fair, work was top notch. Dropped off in the morning and picked up that afternoon.

Perfect. I will for sure be considering them when my car comes out of storage. I am going to get a quote from that ATM as well just to compare and see. Sounds like Moser’s has it though with how highly talked its already been.

i do soft tops for s2ks, i’ve done dozens of them, i charge $400 flat fee for labor. i’m in albany NY

Question regarding the quality/type of material used. I have 2 options to pick. Black Haartz Twillweave Acoustic Vinyl and Black Haartz Stayfast Cloth. What is the difference between the two and which is better/will last longer?

As stated in PM, I wish I was closer to you but thank you for the offer.

Get the stay fast, better material IMO and I haven’t replaced a single one yet, they continue to look new year after year

buffalo isn’t a bad drive, make the trip, or maybe I can take a trip out and visit a buddy from college, I went to UB a while back.

Let me kick the idea around. I wont be doing this till closer to spring time as the car is in storage. I’m going to order to get the material in either this week or next so I am ready to go. I think I will also be ordering 1 or 2 latches for the roof as well. I know they are starting to loosen up.
