the first pic he posted you can see the d2’s and you’re right about the value…
thats S2K i sitting on works tho…
yea i just saw that too, those are work’s D2’s.
General comment…VVV
i don’t want to go too expensive on my car, some people think im being ricey, but why would i buy $2000 plus rims on a car that is worth $1,500. Thats why im getting nothing cheap or expensive everything in the middle, plus this will be my first fully modded car, i.e suspension, tranny, engine+boost, so if i screw up i don’t want to feel bad on the money i spend on it, or if i crash.
I was actually going to buy a 2007 GTO from states “TEXAS” cheap cars there, but i decided i only have two years left at uni, i might as well wait till then to get a proper car, so i decided to get a cheap econobox, for the meantime, and see how it is to mod a car, and make my mistakes now than on a 50k car.
i’ve been studing business for more than 6 years now, all that money spent on education, would go down the drain, if i really though going the best of every part on a $1,500 car is smart.lol
anyways, i hope now that readers will know why im going with rota’s.
ohhh hey thanks alot that really helps me out, what size ar thos D2’s, i saw your car at the last meet, the rims looked really nice, specially with the golden spokes.
GOLD RIMS FTW!
^VOLKS FTMFW!
^^ GOLD VOLKS LE37T FTMFW!!!
b13 bully, don’t want to shit on your thread, but in most cases that statement is actually true. I’ve seen many rota’s fall apart on the track (cracking, bending, and even all the spokes snapping off from the center hub), and you can equally compare camera equipment to cars. lenses fall into the same category as rims (points skewed of course, but you get what i mean). bare with me.
if you look at getting a Canon zoom lense, for instance lets go with the 24-105mm f/4 L IS, that has a starting price of $1000 or so used. Now, for comparison, we’ll use a close third-part equivalent, the Tamron 24-135mm f/3.5-5.6, which is about $350 used. The price difference in those two lenses has nothing to do with their focal length, but in the build quality, and the quality of the glass used. With most third-party manufactures for camera lenses, they use lower-quality glass than the main manufacturers, and thus, explaining why they’re cheaper.
The above can be applied to cars, because when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for. and don’t get me wrong, i don’t mind rota’s, or third-party lense’s, but make sure you do severe research prior to, and don’t just feel better by looking at all the positives and call it a day, read the various sites that are dedicated to anti-rota campaigns, understand their views and opinions, and maybe stop to think why there are so many before you buy.
and please, don’t jump at any chance to start an e-flame with everyone. a simple “i disagree, but please voice your opinions as to why you feel that way” would suffice.
EDIT: and thought i would add in about the statement about big name teams using rota’s, if you pay someone enough money they’ll do anything, as they’re just being used from a sponsorship most likely.
kev, okay i see your point, i just didn’t ever hear anything negative about the rota GT3’s, i will do some research further, if it is true, what can i get that looks like the rota GT3’s.
and the thing about me trying to e-flame, i don’t do it on purpose, but i also dont like it when someone then starts calling me on my “drifter comment” lol from that first thread, its like let it go…
but yea i’ll improve myself on such responses.
haha love your analogy
My MR2 was autocrossed by the previous owner and he was running GT3’s, didn’t seem to have a problem with it…
A lot of the subaru guys run Rota Torque’s too and they go track and rally with them as well.
Some of the Z guys are running Rota P45 rims as well and no complaints there. But then, they only use it for street driving as far as I can tell.
i guess im getting the gt3’s, i don’t see how they can fall apart when they are one piece, anything higher then oem specs is good enough, people are just too concerned about things breaking easily and end up buying something more pricey.
if they break(which they won’t) i’ll buy somthing else, plus i just think people are too cautious, like the one’s who have really expensive rims and still don’t drift with them, because they are too expensive for them to thrash around.
i want to enjoy my car not cherish it. as far as handeling, its all bull, all a person needs is something reasonable, and who the heck is going to need something better when the track here are basically cruises IMO, you can’t pass people or race them on the track.
anyways…
i wouldnt worry about your rims breaking. i could see it on a heavier car with a large rim, but not on your car. you should go with 16" or less as well on a B13, 17’s are too big, not enough sidewall. if i were you, i would choose a tire first and the rim to compliment the tire. 225’s in the front and 205’s in the rear would cut down on understeer. I’m not sure if you can get away with a 235 in the front, it would probably rub. 15’s are the best for tire options and they look “just right” on a lowered B13. as for the style, that’s up to you, my suggestion is B14 SE-R rims in bronze, but I’ve always liked the sleeper look. if you’re looking at bright red rims, then your tastes are very different from mine.
here’s some nice rotas
B14 SE-R rims
mine are 17x7.5 +25 all around, they are good all around wheels, been running them for the past 2yrs havent had anything to complain about
Terry,
yea i agree, i like the sleeper look, but i just love the red gt3’s, and yes i don’t want to go big, i was actually reluctant to go 16inch rims on the b13, as 15’s look big enough. And definately my final decision will be made on the best tire fitment and trim for the wheel i buy, because at the end thats whats really touching the tarmac.
are you comming to the meet this sat?
i wanna take you for a drive, because i think my right cv joint is going, and someother things i can’t make out that i wanna show to you, like the rpm launch is messed up, i can’t explain online you have to see it.
for some reason i like the red one with the custom black skirt pakage looks like the older subaru wrx…no?..its the 4th pic from the last pic, above the white b13
sorry dude i tried my best to not reply since i know there is no point in arguing but you keep blabbing total NONSENSE.
you assume that people dont go balls out drifting w/ there expensive rims when in reality they have many rims and would rather use up the spares first so they got tires to go home w/ and daily drive in which is common sense. and i never met a person that didnt drift w/ their main show rims.
quit talking down on “people”. and i just think people talk too much.
you talk all hardcore this and that but in reality you never pushed your car to its limits. i bet my drive to work or even my parking is more intense then you driving to your limits.
obviously you never been to track… you want to pass people go go-karting or enter a racing league and your allowed to pass if the person signals you to. the people that organize the track event rent out the track and take responsiblity for renting the track. no rules, no organization = accidents happen = less/no more events from those people due to experience or track owners not letting them host. but then agian its your opinion not experience
quit blabbing about your opinions that you never experienced. its like talking about getting laid but really you never experienced it.
in short “Arguing with ignorant people is like racing a civic… even if you win you still lose” (took it straight from rick(ZEPS) msn name)
now back on topic (if its not rim related don’t bother posting, pm if you got something to say)
i use to like the ROTA p45r and bee-r b5 since they were the closes thing to a lmgt4 but then just bought the lmgt4 since a good deal popped up.
Why do you think everytime i mention drifting its people on here???
Im not always talking about you or your drift buddies, i know people have spare rims, because the tires on the rim may become bald after hours of drifting and changing the tires and balancing is not that easy compared to throwing another pair with rubber already on it.
but there are people who use other rims because they don’t want to damage their LMGT4’s for example.lol
lol as far as experiance…there is no comparison between you and me.You may be smarter, better looking or anything else, but i can gaurantee you have no driving experiance like mine, Yes , and your analogies are useless, i laugh everytime i see your extensive research on my messages.
I don’t need to go crazy on saying how good my skills are at driving, one because i’ve see so many people like you on my way and second, i know what i can and can’t do.so why push me to talk about my driving.
and don’t ask me to pm you when you post public messages yourself, while telling someone off.lol
bro i HAVE NOTHING AGAINST YOU:confused: , but get off my dick, you follow me around in every thread just to see what i post, i’ve seen some rediculas talk from others here too, and you don’t see me going on after someone and start stalking their comments,or i don’t see anyone or two people following them behind in every thread analysing their messages and trying to prove them dumb.
Everyone on here knows that by now you and grande deviation are always trying to make me feel dumb, lol guess what i have no feelings.
and please if you had any experiance, you wouldn’t talk or give examples of civics all the time.lol :{
You say, whay?..lol “obviously you haven’t been to the track”…lol you make it sound as if its a cool thing.lol. if you forgot the roots, let me remind you that this car dynasty, drift, drag, donuts, whatever exists today is because it was done all on the street, if it wasn’t for that there would be no tracks today. Don’t try to push the fact that tracks are kool and the right place to do something, just like our governments control our pockets and lives, the track controls the cars enthusiasts. If God doesn’t meddle with free will who is mere man to. maby now you will understand why people still street race or drift on the street (the one’s who are smart about it)…its about freedom.
like i said before, im not rude to people, arrogant or anything mean, and my first public appology was a courtesy, called “manners” but if you still want to get on my nerves i also have a real F#$%^ side, but if you still have to say something go ahead say it, but please say it to my face next time, or don’t say something out of no where “like you have no experiance, or you like the guy who is a virgin who had no sex” and so on…
ok guys this stops now… no more arguing pls. let it go… or ill have to think of somthing to do…
yo i just saw enkei rims in one of the pics. Why don’t you get that? lightweight, track proven and durable. best of all… pretty decently priced too!
