Sounds like the idea originated from “Black Sunday”. I have read the book and seen the movie. (much better ending in the book.) It was a Steelers super bowl since the author wrote it in the 70’s I guess.

yea the book was written in 1975…steelers played…and won the super bowl in 76 against dallas
