who can fix a cell phone?

I just recently bought a u740 for what I thought was a good price. With my luck lately, I wasnt surprised that it was broke. Basically the earpiece is broken and I cant hear what people on the other line are saying. Rather than spend $70 just to send it in to samsung, then the additional $whatever they would charge to fix it, I ordered an earpiece online for $20 or so. Now the tricky part. Anybody know more about cell phones than I do and wanna take a crack at installing the earpiece? Anybody know of a place I can take it to get installed? If not…wish me luck.

everybody has a cell phone. I know someone has to know where to take this to get fixed…

Most people just take it in under insurance and get it replaced.

Here is a novel idea. Buy a new one off ebay or craigslist. I sold mine to someone on here about a month and a half for $70 or $80

its not really worth it to fix them.

Ya…I bought one from somebody on here for $80. It was broken on arrival though. I thought itd be cheaper to just buy the earpiece and fix it myself, rather than buy a new one for $170. But seeing as how i only have 1 functional thumb at the moment, itd be hard to take apart something that small.

Who’s the scammer?

Theyre basically disposable.

Try to fix it yourself, or get a new one. It shouldnt be too hard.

Take it to a Verizon store. At the worst you’re looking at a $50 FRUFEE. You might even get it replaced for free if the technician doesn’t know anything, which is 95% likely.

Im pullin it apart now.

And i dunno if the kid is a scammer. I dont know him personally. I just know for a fact it was broken before he sold it, because otherwise he woulda tried getting $140 for it on ebay like the rest of the u740s. But then he woulda got neg feedback, so he didnt go that route. It was only $80 so if I cant fix it, ill throw the phone, and the earpiece up on ebay for $50 as is or somethin.

SO your options are:

Pay $80 for another phone

Pay $50 if Verizon allows you to insure it (which i doubt since you didnt buy it from them)

Pay $20 for the part and maybe another $20-40 to someone to do it for you depending on who has time and how nice they are.

I really think you should save yourself the trouble and ebay or craigslist another phone.

I sold mine with the USB cable, headphones, and in almost perfect condition for $90 on here I am pretty sure. Look around. You dont have to pay $140 for a used one.

i already got the part. its right in front of me. im making an attempt to put it in there now.

you need the worlds smallest screw driver…

for those who were curious…
