I thought about that but didnt want to get into that today…I would also have to run a brass barb on the one side to adapt it to the coolant hose then the other end slide it over the coolant line.

If you are trying to save money and do essentially the same thing a shop will do.
You buy the aluminum rods and a propane torch. Heat the tip of the rod using a soldering technique. You can then grind off what remains or leave it.

I repaired an aluminum boat once using this at my last job. Simple works
