I was surprised after talking to IT admins from a few companies who never use this feature…After showing them they were shocked how easy file restores are :lol: instead of restoring from tape.
Mshadow.Copy == LZ ? (‘sweet’:‘stfu’)
I wonder what it is like, to have an Ego the size of LZ’s.
:lol:
I was just throwing this out there as a helpful tip for people who get stuck restoring files from file shares…I know how much it sucks to restore from tape for users.
oh right, you’re trying to be “helpful”
Windows isn’t my strong skill if I was trying to stroke my ego it wouldn’t be about windows servers…
I know we have a lot of Windows Admins on here…I was just trying to post up some useful tip…
It makes me feel a lot better then answering posts about viruses/malware and how to remove them…
lol we use it - certainly don’t depend on it though… DFS also, but only intra-site, our data speeds are far too shitty to replicate across our sites
it’s awesome though, no doubt
Thanks, I’m a linux guy myself but recently started working for a shop that mainly deals with Windows servers. I don’t think I’ve heard of this before but will def start using it.
It makes up for his shortcomings else where.:mamoru:
People still use tape?
Yes we use shadow copy. Have we had to use it yet? Nope… knock on wood
Do you guys use a MAID? instead of actual tapes?
I use shadow copies daily. My users are idiots.
