Who's Switched Sides? Import/Domestic?

i own both… but hopefully a new import in the spring

I think the poll says a lot at this point. People that have one usually don’t switch to the other. We need like 10000000 votes yielding the same results so we know this fo sho.

cb7’s are so reliable and low maintenance, i have no idea how mine is still running. ive never even changed my sparkplugs

This is a difficult one for me to answer because I switch cars so frequently. However, since I’ve been old enough to enjoy cars and understand different things about them I have always owned imports after my first two “starter” vehicles being domestic. So from a knowledge standpoint, I’ve almost always owned imports after switching from owning domestics.

I actually haven’t really owned a domestic since 02 when I had my S10, I had a Wrangler for two months back in 05 but I don’t think I owned it long enough to consider that a switch.

My Saturn Vue has VTEC.

I don’t care too much about my DD’s,as long as they’re reliable.I’ve owned Ford,Volvo,VW Toyota,Dodge and GM…never had any major problems.

I either want a 04 GTO or a Fox mustang for my next DD.

14 years of solid Euro ownership here…

pontiac to pontiac to pontiac to honda

i have no brand loyalty, i started driving in a sunfire, owned my grand prix for about a year (it was just boring, i loved the car tho :(),
loved my trans am although it was completely unreliable. i feared it breaking down everytime i took it out lol.
and i like my integra, very good gas mileage and i prefer having a smaller car. it heats up very quick, and is nimble

although i wish i would have kept my sunfire for a winter car

and i hope fucking civicjim does not find this thread

I only ever had domestics because they were cheap as hell used. When I got a real job… I got what I wanted.

I am euro trash.
I don’t think I have had a domestic titled to me before…Wait I did have a ford focus for a little bit.

wouldn’t mind picking up an Fbod to whip on but…got other toys

I would like to point out that the only reason I switched from Imports -> Domestics is because I bought the truck in a rash and quick manner. If I had spent more time looking for a vehicle instead of worrying about what I was going to do with the 3kgt come snow, I would have more than likely bought another import.

That being said…if any import guys want to switch to domestic…I have a truck for you…

Both my car and truck are GM. 84 Trans Am and 96 Chevy S-10. I don’t think I’ve ever owned an import actually. I’m not against them, I’d love an Acura, or a nice toyota. But I know more about the mechanical workings of GM sooo.

I went from Japanese, Euro, Domestic, Euro, Domestic

Euro, then some jdm hotness’s, then the corvette midlife crisis mobile, now back to euro where I belong. LOL.

X…

Lies. Maxima, diamante, montero

X…

The only car I ever bought new was domestic. It got struck by lightning, so I dumped it and bought a older audi. Was sick of wrenching on that so I bought a Acura.

:bigclap:

I’ve switched back and forth a few times, but settled on a jap car. even if I was to get a domestic in the future, it would probably be built in a different country anyway (ie: GTO, G8)

I went from GM (worked as a tech for a Chevy dealer)to a Nissan Titan, after buying a new 01 Silverado HD that had an engine knock since it was new, Was told it was normal & not to worry about it.

It blew it’s head gaskets & warped the heads @ 56,000 miles. That’s when I jumped ship to Nissan.

My wife went from an 02 Chevrolet Malibu to an 03 Mazda 6s.
Went through 2 sets of brakes on the Malibu in 11,000 miles, dealer said it was due to her driving style & woudnt warranty them.

Her Mazda 6 has 66,000 miles on the original brakes.

She must have changed her driving style:lol:

I used to have the attitude, “I’d rather push my american car then drive a foreign car” I guess I got smarter.

Chevy-chevy-chevy-buick-chevy-ford-chevy-BMW.

I’m staying with BMW for a while. It will be a while before I consider another domestic.

Of course the car I drive everyday that never breaks is a Toyota and other 2 cars that break 1-2 times a month are GM
