wow thats pretty hardcore, renting a cat?! lol You can buy a magnaflow cat from partsource for around $80. Its not a bolt on but easy weld on.
I just didn’t want the hassle. I had just welded on a new cat earlier last year. My fault was leaving it on during track sessions and 1/4 mile pulls. Now it is dead. 
Don’t want to bother with welding and stuff. working outside in the cold and on jack stands isn’t so fun as it once was…
