wood burning stove $500

Its a vermont casting resolute 1979 model. It came with the house, I’ve never used it but i just had it cleaned.
has a few blemishes, it’s coated with brown enamel. It comes with a used flue (will need a new one soon) wood basket, wood burning stove accessories, will help deliver to buyer on negotiation. in good shape will have pics up soon. $500 obo.

EDIT _ Consolidating info and my inebriated bumps. I hate seeing people loose potential cash on these stoves, so I hope this helps:

  • A new VC Resolute in the “brown” enamel retails above $2000 new right now
  • A chimney system retails around that as well (if that’s what you are offering too…?)
  • I would suggest replacing the stove pipe either way (not expensive)
  • All parts are still available for these, except for a match on the enamel casts because of the dye lots
  • With great wood, 8’ ceilings, air movement, and some finesse this will heat 1000-1300sqft
  • Burn times could be as high as 4-6 hours (NON-CAT model)
  • Mid-high sixties %eff (without leaks)
  • Top load is wonderful with the cook-top griddle
  • Single front door with avail screen (meh)
  • No blower avail

It might be newer than a '79 too. VC put that on the rear fire back on a few of their stoves for nearly a decade. I’m just assuming that’s where you got the 1979 from. And if not, it’s still a great deal. I have some clients who call monthly for used units and I will gladly spread the word.

However, if I sell it you should buy me a six-pack.

Dam, 30 years old and holding its value. Any pics?

Ugh drunk bump again:

-This is also rated, realistically, for 1000-1400 sq/ft worth of heat
– 8’ ceilings, GOOD wood, and some finesse

  • Approximately 4-6 hour burn times tops
  • Mid-high 60%eff range (without leaks lol)
  • Top load
  • Non-cat

It’s mostly likely newer than a '79 too. VC put that on the back fire wall on a few of their stoves for a nearly decade. I’m assuming that’s where you got the 1979 from. And if not, it’s still a great deal.

Hope this helps. I just see people loose potential cash on these daily. Swap sheet it and be patient. I’ll also let my customers know about it too. But, if I sell it you have to buy me a 6 pack.
