Around 1:30am last night, on my way home from work, I pulled up to a silver coupe at the last light before 87 in Latham. At first I didnt think anything of it - it was dark and I really didnt care about anything other than getting home. We pulled away from the light and proceded through the turn onto I87. I heard the car wind up pretty quick and I rolled with a car I thought it was a newer accord (HID’s/headlights looked similar). It was clearly not as we were mirror to mirror 20-130+mph towards the exit 7 offramp. I pulled past him as he stomped on the breaks before the 45mph?rated turn I was coming into at 110 :ninja :runaway.
Long story short - the badging on the back was that of a Mercedes s550. Is this possible ? From my prior knowledge of these cars, they are 380+hp v8’s?
It was a coupe you say? 2 door? If so, not possible that its an S550. The S550 is a massive sedan though it does have somewhere in the realm of 380HP, does a 14.2@like 99ish MPH in the 1/4. The only coupe 550 Benz it would have been would be a CL550 or a CLK550 though those are both very uncommon cars, especially in this area.
btw mercedes considers 4 door car coupes now…so maybe he was using mercedes terminology, or maybe he just couldn’t see the 2 rear doors cause he lives his life too fast and furiously.
If it was a anything550 it has to be an 06 or newer as before than it was a different engine and only the 430 or the 500. Any Benz that it was, the 550 is a powerful engine and makes for a large German rocket.
