WTB: Anybody want in on Alcantara leather purchase?

Don’t know what forum to place this in… but it really isn’t a classified.

Anybody interested in getting some Alcantara Leather? I’ll be purchasing a few yards and found a supplier in the UK that supplies Ferrari with their Alcantara Leather. It’s Charcoal and has a thin foam backing. I can get it fairly cheap, for about $45-50/yard.

If interested, PM and we can split the shipping costs from the UK.
I’ll post pics of the leather later.

ooooo leather pants with foam inside…

there is a GOD.

Actually if I could sew… I’d re-do my seats, but I cannot, so the savings would disappear when I have someone else do them.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier. I’m interested in ordering some Alcantara. How soon before you place an order?

thats a cheap ass price to get a ferrari quality leather … gfl wit the project, what ever it is

I am very interested… I really wanted to redo the inner sections of my leather seats with this. Do you know any reputible custom interior shops?

They guys in my building do some awesome work.

maybe they can give me an estimate… There is also one spot on the black leather where it is wearing pretty bad, I think there is something behind it that is poking into it and slowly ripping it, although I am not sure if they would be able to find any black leather to match the rest.

prolly be best to go with a different type leather from the stock seats, that way it looks like a tastefull use of 2 different types of leather, instead of a failed attempt to match materials

since when is alcantara leather… i thought it was synthetic suede

Alcantara is not an actual leather. But to just call it “fake suede” is vey misleading. It’s an “ultramicrofiber”. Basicaly it has the same feel suede, but it can last YEARS without breaking down. Suede wears down very quicly, so yes, this is a man-made alternative but the manufacturing process doesn’t make it a cheap alternative to suede… it’s quite pricey, in most cases more expensive then leather.

“Alcantara” is a trademark name and all “Alcantara” is produced by a single facility in italy.

I meant for the small area (that is not part of the area in the center that I want to replace with this stuff) that is ripping.

and I am not a huge fan of the two tone anyway… I like black. I just want the center to breathe better. My seats just make me sweaty in summer.

you should just whip up some diy a/c seats, shouldn’t be too hard

can we choose colors? say like ricey red or just black?
