Alright guys, so here’s the story. I recently bought a 1991 S13 for pretty cheap. The only problem with it is that it’s in automatic and I’m really looking to swap for 5spd very soon. Now, I’m kind of a newb so I really wouldn’t know what I’d be doing if you were to tell me to do the swap myself and such.
So first off, I’m gonna need parts (yes, I’ve read up on the AT --> MT swap and I know about the stuff that’s required). I’d prefer to buy the swap parts as one whole package (if at all possible) just so I won’t have bits and pieces lying around and I end up spending a long time trying to scavenge for one particular part. So if anyone has anything to do with the 5spd swap, let me know, I have cash on hand right now and I will come pick it up if it’s in the GTA. I live in Oakville (which is directly west of Mississauga).
Second off, I was kind of hoping someone here would help me out with the swap once I have parts… like I said, I’d do it myself… if only I had a clue as to what I’d be doing. Not only do I lack experience I also lack equipment/tools that may be required for the job. Of course, beer and food and what have you will be all on me if you guys can help me out. With this swap job I’m kind of looking to learn a few things from some of you more experienced guys, too.
So yeah, as some of you may know I’m kind of new to the community and I lack experience/knowledge when it comes to mechanical work. However, I am willing to learn and I’m willing to spend the money for the swap parts and also for incentives for a few guys to help me out.
Like I said, I’m kind of a newb so don’t flame me if I said anything stupid and/or far-fetched.
