WTB Gas saving car... $1500 or less.

Looking for something efficient… Manual is a must.

My main requirements are a very solid motor/transmission.
A hatchback is a plus…
'92-'95 Civic VX/CX Hatch…

Open to anything that gets 40+ mpg really.
The more the… merrier?

Rust buckets are fine. I’ll do the body work myself… Kind of enjoy it tbh.
But it must have a non sucky clutch, etc…

Hmm, 40mpg no problem. Engine and trans are 100%, just needs a fender, door to look better.

Edit: Its an auto though, still gets excellent gas mileage though.

Yeah, I was looking around before I posted it… Saw it and was thinking about it -.-

Part of the reason I’m looking for a manual too, is to brush up on my skills there -.-
Last time I drove a manual was on oldass Ford F350 dumptruck my family used to haul stuff around when taking down the old garage and building a new one.
So I want to brush up on skills there before I dump money in to an expensive manual ;D

I’ll give it a bit to see what happens ;D
If not I’ll probably end up getting it if you still have it.

No prob. let me know.

you def need to get a geo metro.

Totally fucking forgot about these gems.
Looking around to find one now actually.
lol.

edit;
none around here… closest ones away are 150+ miles :
and they’re not even XFi, so they only get like 40mpg :[

or the ford festive / aspire (in the metro class)

If you were a couple week earlier I just sold my cx to a happy owner…for about ur price it wasn’t a looker but got 40+mpg.
Good luck with ur search.

it seems like a decent metro pops up on craigslist every couple months. I kept looking at it but then remembered I already have 3 extra cars I need to get rid of.

Hmmm, 90 Grand Am GT? 5psd? 38 MPG?

Let me know

Make an offer on the AE86, and get:

-Near 40MPG
-Manual
-RWD
-Hatchback
-Rusty rocker panels/fenders
-Solid underbody/important bits
-Silly clean interior
-A solid DD
-Security in knowing you’re driving a car that is older than you.
-It’s Carbed, how fucking manly is that!

Food for thought:

$1500 (+ 100 title and reg) dollars will buy nearly 11,000 miles of gas at 15mpg and nearly 15,000 miles of gas at 20mpg.

Unless you have NO car now.

Then my argument is invalid.

plus say another 45 bucks a month for insurance on a second vehicle…

pm’d

assuming that when he sells the car, he gets $0.

if he turns around and sells the car in a year or two and gets $1000, then yes, he would save $
