I’m looking to spend no more than $4000. I want something with lower miles, preferably a 5 speed, inspected. I’d really like a small truck (S-10) or like a Jeep Cherokee or similar (something 4WD?), but I’m open to anything available that’s in decent condition.

So you’re looking for a low-mileage, 4wd SUV, shortly before winter, for $4k? That’s a tall order.
My 2001 Jeep Cherokee is a 5spd, and I’ve been thinking of selling it, but I want a good bit more than $4k, more like $7k. Mine isn’t low mileage either, it has about 146k.
