WTB rb20 intake manifold

would like to get a manifold that does NOT go over top of the motor

anyone have or know where to get one locally?

will even go custom if the price isnt retarded

bump

hood don’t close?

I prefer the O.E intake mani over any other.

hood fits perfectly after cutting ribs off

I cut nothing:) I’m special

I’ve been looking into one though, nothing indepth but it seems that the aftermarket front facing ones like from Greddy don’t work on the 20.

some food for thought though.

there are 3 different things you can do:

1- Chop the throttle body and flange off and get it relocated on the standard plenum (facing forward)

2- Get a custom top half made up

3- Full out flow tested plenum with new runners directly off the head.
" i have done just that, and have nothing bad to report. (192.6 RWKW’s @ 14.1psi)
According to a Zoom article comparing a gtr (Style) manifold and stock rb20det manifolds (fitted to a rb20det) the results were very interesting. they found it was more driveable, and had more torque/power than the short runner/tapered plenum design. however there are very good, and possibly important benefits from the gtr style, including larger volume and less lag to name a couple.
i however decided, that my car is a street car (not constantly sitting in the high rpm range), used for the occasional track day/ drag day, and therefore would benefit more from simply relocating the throttle to the front of the stock manifold, (i also slighty increased plenum volume). Another deciding factor was cost, as this was much cheaper than making a new manifold, or new ‘top’ half, plus i scored a another manfold for cheap, so could mod it without taking the car off the road, which was more managable "
