im not sure i understand your logic, the GT series turbos arent just meant to make huge power, they are meant to be more responsive, spool up faster, and recover faster during shifts, why would you not want that in a daily driver. huge power drag cars spool time isnt as huge of a factor as they are always in the upper rpm powerband, so in reality it is most useful on daily drivers.
the GT30xx’s are used all the time in road race applications, of course not on the drag strip, they are fairly small compared to most of the size limitations of turbo classes.
