ive had an xbox since they came out, and i just recently purchased the new ps2, they are both bad ass…
i have ps2, xbox, and gamecube, and like them all. ps2 is better for sports games i think. But xbox has better graphics and a hardrive. i think xbox might be superior just for the fact that it has halo/halo 2. gamecube has the best graphics of the bunch, but the game selection is lacking.
i have both… also use the converter to use ps2 controller on xbox.
hopefully i can flash my hacked xbox and get it working, then it’ll be > ps2…
until then i’ll stick with saying the ps2 is better…
get a used ps2 at cd warehouse for like a 100.

xbox is graphicly better, sports is better there too, but…
the after market of game selection goes to ps2 and the kicker, ps2 has a hugely supported cheat base and xbox does noy.
I say xbox because thats what I have. I think its better just because of the actual potential it has compared to the ps2, the only thing ps2 has over xbox is the game selection.
i like my ps2, the games for it are far better then whats avalible for xbox. but if i had to pic on performance i would take a xbox i guess, i hear they are way better then the ps2, but i would have to use the playstation controler some how, i dont like the xbox one.
I am goin with XBox. properly modded it’s by far a superior machine. Even superior than a modded PS2, so it has more potential. SInce I hardly ever play games on it, the game selection has little influence on me. I typically use my xbox to watch avi’s and wmvs i snag off the net as well as record shoutcast streams that I listen to. I also have every NES, SNES, Genesis, and some N64 games on it… so its more of a versatile machine. PS2 is still a good machine though. It’s actually alot more efficient than XBOX and is coming along in the mod scene. But I have had bad experiences with all 3 of the PS2’s I’ve owned and that have broke. The only one I was rough with is my current one that was in my truck for a few months. Oh well…
P.S. - I used to hate the xbox controller (even the smalll ones) until I actually started using them… now I can’t see how I ever used a PS2 one. The analog is alot less to my liking but it does have 2 extra buttons in the back…
I havent had any problems with my Ps2
when i first started getting into console gaming, post-Sega Genesis era, i bought a Dreamcast. the xBox reminds me of my Dreamcast…so i like it better… :madfawk:

the controls arnt that much different,they make xbox controllers like ps2 now.
xbox has two good games…halo and halo 2…ok and maybe one racing game…cant rember teh name…enough said…ps2>x box
