I will say this if memory serves and I could be wrong I remember that firehawk barely pulling Joe’s NA integra the first time i saw it with heads and cam… It takes time and money to go fast LS1 car or not. 110-120 cars are not fast. Yes LS1 cars especially these days are a great bang for the buck. So is buying a fox body or a light pre built hatch.

most of these setups are fairly easy to make fast. there is no secret to making a fbody fast, just like there is no secret to making a honda, mitsu, nissan, etc fast. there is no more prestige or “high-science” to building a honda, so the “making a big v8 faster is not as impressive” babble is a weak arguement. you are right in saying all it takes is money and knowledge (knowledge that blankets all platforms).

as far as the firehawk vs joestypes… i know the firehawk had a shit ass heads/cam setup and chuck was not quite the hot driver back in the day. whatever. same arguement with me and you. i was a noob, your car was built well, and you got me pretty good. now… well i think everyone could picture how that race would turn out

my goodness. this is insane. I agree with Smith. You like what you like for cryin out loud. I enjoy my 30th like no other and it moves out on the bottle, but i’d enjoy driving my brother’s Shelby Shadow just as much if not more. I guess I’m different because i like all kinds of things. As far as an LS1 with a cam and a 150 shot, like i said earlier give it a couple of weeks I’ll be back out with exactly that.

my car was/is 5k …find me an ls1 that will beat me for 5k that has leather/sound/etc…wont happen.
