A.M.E.C. Malta-Madness Speedway Autocross! Nov. 7th

Thanks for the info!!!

The latest in from Dave Burnham:

Just a reminder, there are only 6 days until the autocross at Albany Saratoga Speedway. Please sign up on line if you are coming. We will accept walk ins but would prefer to have everyone do it on line it will be easier for registration to handle that way. You also won’t get left out if we fill up, 55 drivers are signed up so far!

Thanks,

Dave Burnham

This event will be run on Saturday correct?

I got this off your website:
Update ; Thursday May 6 2:00pm

Here is the latest autocross update. All the parties invested in making the decision as to if we run the autocross/car show/drift/ show on Saturday because of the potential bad weather have all agreed to do it Saturday May 8th as planned. The weather looks like it will be wet in the morning but clearing as the day goes on and it should be pretty nice later on. Bring your rain coats for the morning and dry stuff for the afternoon.

So get all loaded up and plan on being there at Albany Saratoga Speedway 8AM for the opening of registration. Workers can get there at 7:30 AM.
A full e mail will be sent out to all the people on the autocross e mail list this evening. See you all there SATURDAY. Your mom will be happy with you!
Dave Burnham

Correct. Like you saw, they are running rain or shine.

Re: 2010 AMEC Autocrosses at Albany Saratoga Speedway!!!

This was sent out to all on the autocross email list Thursday evening.

AMEC AUTOCROSS NEWS

Hi All,

The first AMEC Autocross at Albany Saratoga Speedway of 2010 will be held as scheduled on Saturday May 8th 2010 this weekend! Your mothers will be happy because all clubs involved in putting on this show agreed that we should do it Saturday so everyone can spend time with Mom on Sunday.

Thank you to everyone that pre registered with our online registration. We still have some open space. If you have not registered, you can take your chances and come Saturday morning… you may still get in.

For directions to the track go to www.CVRA.com

The weather may be rainy in the morning. It should clear up later in the day. We all can use this opportunity to hone our wet weather driving skills in a controlled environment. AMEC mostly races on the ice in the winter, so for us it’s normal to have it be slippery!

AMEC Workers will be arriving at 7:30 for set up.

Registration opens at 8am at the pit gate. Don’t be late! If you registered online, just sign the waiver at the pit gate. If you are not pre-registered, you’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way and stop at the pit gate to pay your $40 and fill out the paperwork)

Any non-drivers such as helpers, spectators, family members need to pay $5 to enter the pit area.

Everyone entering the pit area must sign the waiver and will get a hand stamp so you will be able to come and go as you please from the pit area.

After you get checked in for the autocross, please prepare your car and go to tech. The tech guys will check your car over for safety and make sure you are properly classified.

As soon as the track is set, please feel free to walk the course.

Drivers meeting will be at 9:30am and the first car on the track will start soon after.

Special thanks go out to DeNooyer Performance for sponsoring our trophies and workers lunches. Please check out the awesome high performance cars DeNooyer designs and builds at http://www.denooyerperformancedivision.com/

We hope you have a great day at the track! Please also check out the Saratoga Bridges Benefit Car Show running consecutively with the autocross. For more fun stay for the Drifting show at 6pm.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the first AMEC autocross for the summer of 2010. The next one is scheduled for Sunday June 13th.

If you have any questions, please call or email any of us listed below.

Thanks!!!
