Bass Pro is a go

“This is a stick-up, gimme those rapulas or die biatch!!!”

pffft what will they steal from you fishing lures? I say fend them off with a good filet knife

yeah i’ve been to a few around the US … people come from miles around to go to them. i think it’ll be big. especially with with the amount of fishing around here.

however i do agree it won’t benefit buffalo enough to make a significant difference

Should be interesting to see how it pans out.

sure beats an indian casino…

Every time money circulates within an economy it loses value. Getting Buffalonians to go to and spend money at Bass Pro does damage, not good. The only way this can be good for the city is if it were to bring people and money from outside of the greater Buffalo area to Buffalo. An outdoors sporting goods store, even a big one, will not do that. This is a retarded way to spend $25 million dollars that we don’t have.

An Indian casino would be worse, not only will it circulate money within the Buffalo economy, it will remove it and put it in the hands of a few wealthy Indians. Nobody will come to that from the outside. Where would a tourist go? A Casino in a run down city or a Casino 20 minutes away near one of the 7 wonders of the world and a developed tourst area over the border?

Cliffs: Bass Pro and a downtown Casino will both only hurt Buffalo’s struggling economy.

I really wish that shore line was developed… hell put the bass pro RIGHT ON THE SHORELINE!!

Looks like wal-mart is going to have some competition with being the “most stolen goods” store.

It’s about damn time.

not interested because fishing doesnt appeal to me. but with lake erie close and with hunting being big in WNY, i’m sure they will do just fine.

i give it 3 years they will be open before the closing sale starts.

As others have said, its more than just a fishing store.

Will it do well? I dunno… Tough to survive down there, especially in the winter, but sounds like plenty of others retailers are going up around it.

Oh, and its a stretch to call it an “aquarium” inside Bass Pro. It’s a GIANT fish tank. And they do fishing demos. You can’t pull up a chair, crack open a beer, and catch some Bass in there.

Where did the 25 million come from? Seems ridiculous to give them that to build a stupid store here. Hopefully this spurs development of the waterfront area.

Press Conference at HSBC this morning sometime…

OMG Bas pro is coming!!!

YAAAAAAAY!

Should I start holding my breath yet for the savior of Buffalo?:bloated:

now just get some steady development so i can find a job and move back to buffalo :headbang:

I still can’t believe that people actually think it will be good for Buffalo. Not only is it going to do nothing but suck money out of Buffalo, but we’re giving it a fucking $25 MILLION dollar head start! If I think about it too much my head’s going to explode.

who cares the casino would revamp this city a hundred times more than bass pro i dont understand putting an outdoors store in an urban area seems contradictory to me but thats just my opinion

How do you figure? People aren’t going to come to Buffalo for a Casino when there are Casino’s 20 minutes away at a developed tourst area at one of the 7 wonders of the world. All I see a casino doing is removing money from Buffalo and putting it in the hands of a few wealthy indians.

Yea the casino in niagra falls did them a bunch of good :bloated:
