DragnDoor's 1998 Ranger

Yeah shits weak.

Were those the new wheels at home or the wrong ones going back still?

Got the front end mocked up and set today. Also got a couple pics of how the back looked before I took it back down to frame for paint for those who want to see some progress. Picture quality sucks they are from my phone. Waiting on my wheels to come back and to put some tires on them, and hopefully we will pull the cab off this week to start fuel/brake lines.

if i am up at the house before it gets finished at some point ill get some pics for the thread

Not much has changed but I put a few new pics up

This thing is awesome, and makes me want to make a bad ass mini truck

Any plans to chop the cab/bed?

Are those lower red arms solid mounted? How does the axle move up and down without binding?

you mean solid mounted to the axle? not really. There is a triangluar plate that U bolts to the axle. the forward arm is mounted to one point low on the plate with a bushing, and the other arm is mounted to a dog bone link which connects to the upper point on the axle plate. Its a cantilever setup, to when the rear arm with the bag moves 2 inches the god bone multiplies it and the axle moves 4+ inches. you have to see it to really understand it. but this pic kind of shows it better:

There is a video coming soon!

thanks dude. No cab chopping this year, but doesnt mean it wont happen. the rockers were cut out, 4 inches or so. so the bed and the front fenders got chopped 4 inches also to match the lower body lines. The bed was actually “reverse sectioned” I guess you would call it. the back of the bed, VS the cab was actually an inch narrower. so when you looked down the side, the bed looked like it was too far inside the frame rails. so we added an inch to the back of the bed to flush out the sides with the sides of the cab when you looked down the side of the truck. :thumbup
