while we are losing our affiliation with rochester, we certainly do not give up all of the players we have playing for them. if the sabres own a player’s rights, what minor league team they are affiliated with is irrelevant.

Well, I hope they shell some cap. Mcarthur, Paille, and Goose are all done after this season. As well as Pratt UFA, and Mike Ryan.
Next year we have Pominville, and Stafford that will need to be resigned.
Long contracts for Paille, mcarthur, and stafford would be very nice. To snag them before they get really good.
If we lose campbell we have paetsch to move up and actually play.

Free up cap with Max and Kalinin ~4-5mil free trade campbell for a Jokinen, or Marleau (I think he is looking for a retarded amount of money though) so Jokinen would be super.
This way we weaken a little in the D zone, but have a solid goal scorer to help Vanek out by drawing some attention from him. So he can have an open crease sometimes to make plays.

Real game changing all stars like Briere, Drury, or Campbell aren’t easily replaced and anyone who thinks they are clearly doesn’t know hockey.

Knowing you can’t replace campbell with paetch is hardly knowing it all.
I think this season’s results compared to last season have proven we didn’t do a very good job replacing Briere or Drury.
I’m just tired of listening to people say “just let them go we’ll find someone as good with our callups”. No, you won’t. He’s a two time all star, 4th on your team in points (as a defenseman no less), and plays against the other teams top lines.
