The league suspended him indefinitely today for that quote. You have to be fin’ kidding me!!! Sure, he’s talking trash but come on!!! First off, props to him for banging Rachel Hunter who’s now dating LA King Jarret Stoll and more recently Elisha Cuthbert who’s now dating Calgary Flame Dion Phaneuf (hence the comment today before playing Calgary). Has the true pussy-fication of the NHL begun when I guy gets suspended indefinitely for some (true, not made up) trash talking?!?!?! Guys get a game, maybe two or three for blatant dirty hits to the head but get an indefinite suspension pending a ‘hearing’ for talking!?!?!?!

I agree he actually sucks, and when the Sharks played him last he certainly cost his team more than contributed. However, indefinite suspension for talking? Bull****.
I was reading on a local blog and they actually had a pretty good thought about this.
If they don’t suspend him, last nights game between the Stars and Flames would have been an absolute bloodbath.
But he obviously said something stupid because you didn’t hear anyone in the locker room stick up for him, not Modano or Richards or Erikkson or Lundquist. Hell even their owner said if the NHL didn’t suspend him, he would have.
They probably didn’t stand up for him because they can’t stand the guy, just like everyone else. I agree that what he said was stupid, but I am sure that guys say much worse stuff on the ice or in other interviews and don’t get indefinite suspensions. He just got suspended because he is Sean Avery. Seriously, Semin made comments about Sid earlier this year in interviews and he didn’t get suspended. Granted, he wasn’t talking about Sid picking up his sloppy seconds, but they were still personal attacks, it shouldn’t matter if they are talking about some guy’s girlfriend or not.

yeah that suspension is bogus. the NHL is now as wussified as the NFL.
such a crock of ****. the reason that the players arent sticking up for him is beacause the owner wanted to suspend him and now they got to kinda follow the rules. dont want to end up like the NFL and get fined for talking crap on the NHL board peoples. so what he talked **** oh well. hit him in the boards clean then drop the gloves. take the 5 minute major and be on your way.
I agree it’s BS to suspend him for some words, but how much of a dumbas$ to you have to be? He should have said it on the ice where he is supposed to talk shi t. He should know that in today’s “have to be PC” BS, you just can’t say certain things.
