well i just bought this sled on monday for 1900$ the previous owner hit a tree and bent the bulkhead (very common on theese sleds), and broke the stabilizer bar. here is a little build thread of the progress im making. the bulkhead should be here on monday and im hoping to be riding it by next weekend.i also scubbed the engine compartment and all the panels i will have to take pics of all that. i will post more pics as i progress.
thanks for the comments guys. as far as parts im going to have
250 for a new bulkhead (flying nun is what the dealer calls it)
300ish for a new track i am going to run the one thats on it for the rest of the year
so about 550 in parts to make it in tip top shape again. so for about 2450$ ill have a pretty nice sled to ride.
it has 4500mi on it but it still starts and runs good. it was a friend of mines sled he hit the tree and my other buddies dad bought it at auction and i decided to pick it up. when he had it he never had any problems with it.
ya i wouldnt of bought it if it wasnt an x package. and as far as the heat exchanger, why fix what isnt broken. theres coolant in it now and it hasnt leaked. ill throw a belly pan on it.
making a little progress, i have been waiting for the parts to come in. but in the meantime ive been doing some cleaning.
did some polishing . still needs a little bit of work.
got the new bulkhead in, gladly it has some gussets in it to strengthen it up a little
got the front chassis plate off the other day while i was waiting for the new one, heres a pic of the old one and, the sled with it off.
then tonight i got the new chassis plate all rivited back on.
after i get the new bulkhead rivited back on tomorow, which shouldnt take long. it will start to come together really quick. still shooting for my goal of riding it this weekend. :eekdance:
