I’m gonna try to take my truck to prp for some tnt this week. anyone wanna try and guess what it will run? It’s an 83 chevy shortbed 2wd with a 305, a small summit cam(size possibly a 268)performer intake,stock quadrajet, hedman headers, duals with turbo mufflers, rebuilt tranny with shiftkit, 4:10 gears with posi, and 255/70/15 tires. My guess is a mid 16

don’t think it will do 15’s it is only a 305, although i did hang with a new vr6 jetta till 1/2 way through 3rd(which should be a 15sec car). The carb still needs some jetting, I think it’s rich on top and/or my float level is to low. It runs out of shit in 3rd gear. I have a 350 motor that needs rings and head work and a 400 block that needs total rebuild. one of these will get built for the truck just have’nt decided which yet. My goal is atleast 400hp and 13sec 1/4 times. should be pretty easy.
i have a 355 in a s15…it has a mild cam demon carb …maybe one day i can take it to the track and get some numbers
maybe 8.1 crew has a T.P.I setup for you

i think low 15’s should happen if not 14’s. i did 15.3 with a 305 in a 3500lb monte ss. the only mods where headers and true duals and no emmison crap.
i’m back from the track. truck ran better than expected. 1st run was 16.5 with truck in drive. the rest of the runs were 15’s with the last run being my best at 15.613@87.14 60ft at 2.511 and 1/8 at 10.096.

That’s cool that you got into the 15s, i remember thinking that 16.5 was a bit slow for the smokeshow prior to that.

na, fi is for new cars. I’ll stick with the carbs that way I can still work on it.I need to do something about the 60ft times.Do you think a edelbrock 500cfm carb would help. I have one laying around.
Ah, forgive me! I don’t know jack about older trucks. You both ran about the same starting times. I did see one of your better runs then when i was over getting a drink.
