1000 Cars Racing (Video Game)

not sure from what video game that’s from, but it looks pretty cool

Some guy has way to much time on there hand’s to do all that.

I guess he had damages turned off.

This looks like they had almost full control over physics and the track (it was a custom track). Vehicle colission detection for the 1000 cars was turned off and this would increase the render speed; allowing each car to act as if it were alone on the track. You’ll notice that the cars didn’t care about eachother so I suspect each one had a slightly different AI seed from probably two base algorithms. You’ll notice at the fork in the road that it seems half the cars went left and the other right.

Lots of these 3D shorts are student assignments for university, I opted not to take that class and instead learned about RTOS’. My math skills were never strong enough for me to benifit from AI design, theory or optimization.

Background music rocks.

Anyone know what it is?

Gonad: It’s Moby - Flower
I think that’s what it says in the video…

yup u got it

How does that rock? It has to be rock to rock. That is not rock.

Entertaining vid though… 8)

haha rich, good explaination and all but its actually a lot more simple… it’s 1000 replays all combined in to one using this “powerful editor” in the game track mania. i cant remember the name of the editor but i’ve heard lots of cool things about it.

oh is that how they did it John? That’s still pretty cool…

so someone had to play that track 1000 times? LOL
