Forged wiesco pistons and Lunati rods ordered. Once in I will have the block honed to a bore size of 4.005 and the new rotating assembly balanced. Then we can assemble this bish.

stock crank
317 heads
Speed Inc TU 1.5 Cam
LS9 head gaskets
LS6 intake TB

Basically its my Nova setup from last year with forged internals…

Trans:
Built T-56
Twin Disc

No rush but should have the motor assembled within a few weeks/month

Need to decide on:

Turbo setup - One? Two? :slight_smile:
Truck manifold kit? Quick, cheapest option, makes big power
Build headers - More $$$ and time but - SIQQQQQQQQQQQQQq
ECU - I am debating busting out the bankroll for Holley HP EFI - SiqqqqqqqqQQQQ but I have a spare stock ecu and might run that

I hope to get this started on Saturday. But we will see if the Nova agrees. Hoping to get the Nova running Friday night and start tearing down the Maro Sat.

I mostly just wanted something to fab/build this winter and didn’t have any side projects locked up right now. So why not swap and TT a 69 Camaro!

Rebuilt the 6.0 that was in the Nova last night. I was going to do a forged setup but figured id blow it up 1-2 more times stock bottom end first.

So… New(used) rods, quick ball hone, and a set of rod bearings and this thing is back together. ~$150 rebuild. We will see how it does this time. Handled a ton of power last year and im confident it let go on the limiter from the load/unload at full boost.

So the motor is:

Ebay head studs
LS9 head gaskets - reused :wink:

Yeah that is why I didn’t go forged on this one. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to blow up another stock bottom end.

I cant wait to build the turbo kit! First fab project of this build will be the trans mount I think.

Just ordered a bunch of parts to get the motor to its new home soonish. I think this weekend maybe I will tackle some engine bay cleanup/repaint. Maybe get the motor/trans together?
